Eastgate Primary School

School leaders are Grade 7 learners who are democratically elected by their peers whilst they are in Grade 6. This is not a Learner Representative Council but instead a body of learners that assist educators with the general supervision of their fellow learners. Some of their duties include defusing conflicts, watching for litter offenders and receiving and escorting guests who visit our school. This system is aimed at developing learners’ leadership skills and in that way we are preparing them for their future roles as leaders in our
country.
